Project: CS Irwin Snowcats
Location: Crested Butte, Colorado

Beginning operations in 2010, CS Irwin is a new snowcat skiing operation located in the mountains outside of Crested Butte in Colorado. With over 1,000 acres of skiable terrain, 600+ inches of annual snowfall and 2,100 feet of vertical, CS Irwin was identified as a prime opportunity for renewing a historic snowcat operation.
IAD was hired by Scarp Ridge LLC to assist in due diligence and site studies to determine the feasibility of re-opening the snowcat skiing operation. In addition to these initial reviews, IAD identified opportunities for the development of several private owner cabins, including strategic private land acquisitions and roadway access options. Finally, IAD worked with CS Irwin to prepare Special Use Permit (SUP) and Operating Plans for US Forest Service approvals.
