With 5,289 skiable acres, Vail is the largest and most recognized ski resort in the United States. Vail consists of nearly 200 trails, 32 lifts, 10 back bowls, 4 terrain parks and 4 villages.
IAD’s founding partner, Mike Larson, worked as Vail’s internal director of planning for over twenty years. During this time, he was responsible for the government approval, design documentation, project budgeting, field layout, construction oversight and post-completion evaluation of all resort projects. This included design and implementation of over a thousand acres of trail construction and multiple lift installations, include the complete development of Blue Sky Basin.
